Bowmanville Beach, located in the Durham region, is such a great spot for engagement photos! It has many options, from the waterfront to the beachfront, small rock formations, a pretty cool road, and a little field. I know, right? I feel like you have the best of all worlds when choosing this spot. It’s great for summertime engagement photos if you’re looking for someplace just outside of Toronto. It is only about an hour's commute, and I promise it will be worth it!
2. Kortright Forest
Imagine rows and rows of tall, beautiful trees lined up perfectly - that’s Kortright Forest. This is a good option if you want your engagement photos in a truly epic spot. Not to mention there is a pretty field and roadway nearby if that is the vibe you are going for! If you are looking to do fall engagement photos, in particular, this spot is for you!

Immerse yourself in nature at Orono Forest, with tall trees, fields, creeks, and loads of greenery! This spot is perfect all year round because you have a good mix of different trees. Whether you’d like to do a pretty winter, spring, summer, or fall engagement session, any season will look incredible here! There are a few different entrances to the forest, but after scoping it out a time or two, I have found some pretty cool spots!
5. Greenwood Conservation Area
Rows of tall trees and big open green spaces, Greenwood Conservation Area, is sure to be a favorite for your engagement session photos. Can you tell I like tall trees? I know it is a common theme lately, but they truly make you stand out and give you all the forest vibes for your session. This spot is located in Ajax, so you are very close to the city if you need to commute. Many of my couples like this spot because it is a good central location whether you live in Toronto or the Durham area!
